Context

Long horizontal banner produced for one of NER's American flour-collection drives. The text "Their Life Line!" runs in block blue capitals at left, the red script "'Say it with Flour'" sweeps across the center, and a drawn life preserver bearing the words "Near East Relief" anchors the right. The slogan parodies the contemporary florist trade campaign "Say It with Flowers" (launched by the Society of American Florists in 1917), repurposing an idiom American audiences already recognized.

Banners of this kind hung above flour-collection points in churches, schools, and grocery storefronts during the periodic NER drives that converted in-kind donations into shipped relief. The piece is undated and unsigned; the use of the standardized name "Near East Relief" places it after the August 1919 federal incorporation.
